A transparent sun protection spray for the body with SPF50, without propellant gas.

Niacinamide (vitamin B3) supports the skin barrier and evens out the skin tone over time, squalane keeps the skin supple and compensates for moisture loss due to sun, wind or salt water. Vitamin E has an antioxidant effect and helps the skin to deal with oxidative stress from UV exposure. Betaine also binds moisture in the skin. The texture is very light, is absorbed, leaves no white film and no sticky feeling.

The fragrance comes from real essential oils - Italian tomato leaf and green mandarin, with quieter notes of bitter orange petitgrain. Not a synthetic perfume.

Anwendung

Apply about 20 minutes before sun exposure. Shake well before use. Spray at a distance of approx. 15 cm and spread evenly - it is best to spread by hand so that areas without direct spray contact are also protected. Re-spray every two hours, sooner after swimming, sweating or drying off.

LeRub was founded in Antwerp in 2022 by siblings Kim and Raf Maes - out of a concrete frustration: they had tried all the sun protection products on the market and couldn't find a single one that felt good and provided honest protection. So they made their own. As a former make-up artist and Head of R&D, Kim is responsible for the formulations, while Raf is the brand builder and manages the brand. Made in Italy with Mediterranean ingredients.

Why we recommend it

The practical sun protection for on the go - for re-spraying, for hard-to-reach areas such as the back or shoulders, for days at the pool or beach. The spray is not an aerosol, but a fine, precise spray nozzle - you apply what you need without propellant gas in the surrounding area.

Ingredients

Niacinamide A form of vitamin B3. Supports the skin barrier, reduces visible redness and helps to even out skin tone over time. Has a calming effect and is well tolerated, even by sensitive or sun-exposed skin.

Squalane A lipid naturally occurring in the skin in vegetable form (usually from olives). Absorbs quickly without being greasy or clogging pores. Keeps the skin supple and compensates for moisture loss due to sun, wind or salt water.

Vitamin E antioxidant that helps the skin fight free radicals. Helps to soothe and strengthen the skin barrier, especially after UV exposure.

FAQ’S

How does the spray differ from LeRub's All Day Sunscreens?

The spray is more practical for on the go, for re-spraying and for areas such as the back or shoulders that are difficult to reach with lotion. The lotion gives a richer feeling and is the more obvious choice for the first application before going out in the sun or for drier skin. Many people combine both: lotion to start, spray to finish.

Are the UV filters chemical or mineral?

This spray works with organic (chemical) UV filters, a new generation of which differs significantly from older chemical filters such as oxybenzone or octinoxate.

The older generation rightly has a bad reputation: poor skin compatibility, suspected hormonal effects, demonstrably harmful to coral reefs. The new generation was deliberately developed to solve these problems - the molecules are larger (hardly penetrate the skin), photostable (do not break down in the sun), well tolerated even by sensitive skin and more biodegradable.

LeRub has deliberately opted for the new generation for this spray:

  • Tinosorb S - broadband filter (UVA + UVB), considered the gold standard. Virtually no absorption through the skin, non-sensitizing.
  • Uvinul A Plus - UVA filter with very low skin penetration. No proven hormonal activity.
  • Uvinul T 150 - UVB filter, highly efficient, minimal systemic absorption.
  • Uvasorb HEB - UVB filter, very photostable, low irritation potential.

All four are approved by the EU Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) and evaluated with the EcoSun Passport - a procedure that tests biodegradability, toxicity and environmental impact. Oxybenzone and octinoxate are not included.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes, from the age of two - but we recommend spraying into the hand and then applying so that no spray gets into the eyes or mouth. For children under the age of two, please speak to your pediatrician beforehand.
